Description:

 

The Woodward 8237-1600 is an overspeed safety device designed to safely shut down steam, gas, and hydro turbines of all sizes upon sensing an overspeed or overacceleration event. It features a panel mount design with high voltage/low voltage power input and voted relays/voted inputs for steam turbine overspeed protection.

 

Acceleration Detection: Protects turbines from high acceleration events by detecting the derivative of the speed signal and issuing a trip command. Sulfur Contamination Resistant: Utilizes a special conformal coating material for long-term protection against H2S and SO2 gases.
